Tancho

TANCHO 

Illustration is that of an ideal Tancho Kohaku. The Tancho can appear in most any variety of koi that has a pattern, but most often Tancho refers to a Kohaku with a red patch exclusive to the head. It is a non-metallic koi. Look for a clean white body without any blemishes or random Hi. The ideal Tancho spot is one that is centered on the head and does not protrude onto the shoulder area.
