This 10-inch Doitsu Hi Utsuri Butterfly Koi features dramatic contrast with deep black coloration paired with fiery red-orange patterning. The red coloration dominates the head and extends along the body while the rich sumi base provides bold contrast, giving this koi a powerful presence in the pond.
As a Doitsu koi, the fish has a mostly scaleless body with a row of mirror scales along the dorsal line. This smooth body allows the intense black and red coloration to appear especially clean and vibrant in the water.
The Butterfly (longfin) trait adds elegance to the koi’s strong pattern. Flowing pectoral fins and a long trailing tail create graceful movement, making this koi especially eye-catching when swimming through the pond.
Hi Utsuri koi are prized for their bold color contrast, and the addition of long fins makes this fish even more striking. At 10 inches, #J31036 (P6) has strong developing color with excellent contrast that will continue to evolve as the fish matures.
Kloubec Koi Farm is a family-owned American koi breeder established in 1981. Located on 80 acres with more than 60 outdoor ponds and a 300,000-gallon indoor facility, we raise all of our koi right here on the farm rather than importing fish for resale. Every koi undergoes a comprehensive health and quarantine protocol before being offered for sale, and our facility has never experienced a case of Koi Herpes Virus (KHV).
