This striking 12.5" Beni Kumonryu Koi has a bold, almost prehistoric appearance created by its large, dark scales and smoky silver-gray coloration.
The oversized charcoal-black scales running along the back create a dramatic dragon-scaled appearance, giving this koi incredible texture and definition when viewed from above. Fine black speckling extends along the sides, while deep, dark fins and tail reinforce its powerful overall look.
Look closely and you'll also find subtle touches of warm orange beni breaking through the darker coloration. These small areas of color add another layer of interest without taking away from the koi's predominantly black and silver appearance.
Beni Kumonryu are known for their evolving coloration, particularly their sumi. As this koi matures, its balance of black, silver, and beni may continue to change, making it an especially interesting fish to follow over time.
