This 9" Doitsu Yamato Nishiki Koi brings together metallic brilliance, three-color patterning and dramatic Doitsu scales in one distinctive fish.
Its bright silver-platinum ground provides a reflective backdrop for scattered red-orange hi and bold black sumi markings. The irregular placement of the colors gives this koi plenty of personality, with something different to notice from head to tail.
The Doitsu scaling is especially eye-catching. Large mirror scales run along the dorsal area, reflecting the light against the smoother metallic skin and creating additional texture and dimension.
Yamato Nishiki are often described as the metallic counterpart to Sanke, combining red, black and white/silver coloration with hikari luster. Add the Doitsu scale structure of this individual, and you get a koi with a particularly unusual appearance in the pond.
