Soft blue coloration and intricate scaling give this 7" Shusui Koi an understated beauty that stands out among more brightly patterned varieties.
Its smooth, blue-gray body features a distinctive row of dark mirror scales running along the back, creating the zipper-like pattern that makes Shusui so recognizable. The darker scaling becomes more pronounced toward the shoulders, adding beautiful contrast against the lighter sides.
Delicate orange-red accents near the pectoral fins and along the lower body provide a subtle touch of warmth, while the pale head and translucent fins complement its cool coloration.
Shusui are the Doitsu, or largely scaleless, counterpart of Asagi. Their beautiful blue tones and distinctive dorsal scales make them a favorite among koi enthusiasts who appreciate unusual coloration and elegant simplicity.
At 7 inches, this young Shusui offers an opportunity to enjoy watching its coloration and pattern develop as it matures.
