Meet Copper, a 7" Beni Kikokuryu with an extraordinary combination of bold scaling, rich coloration, and plenty of personality!
Copper's most impressive feature is the dramatic arrangement of oversized black mirror scales running along its back. These distinctive scales create a striking, armor-like pattern, giving this koi an almost prehistoric appearance.
Warm copper-orange markings weave around the dark scales, creating beautiful contrast against the cooler silvery-blue body. The intricate pattern continues toward the head, where bold black markings add even more character.
The dark tail provides a dramatic finishing touch, while the lighter pectoral fins create a lovely contrast against the richly patterned body.
Beni Kikokuryu are especially fascinating because their black markings can change as they mature. At 7 inches, Copper offers an opportunity to enjoy watching its unique pattern develop over time.
If you're looking for something beyond traditional koi patterns, Copper's unusual scaling and rich color combination make it a memorable addition to any pond.
Copper was bred and raised at Kloubec Koi Farm in Amana, Iowa—we never import koi for resale.
Our family-owned American koi farm encompasses 80 acres, more than 60 outdoor ponds, and a 300,000-gallon indoor facility. Every Kloubec Koi completes our comprehensive health and quarantine protocol before being offered for sale, and our farm has never had a case of KHV.
