This 7.5" Heisei Nishiki Koi immediately stands out for its dramatic combination of metallic silver, golden-yellow coloration and bold dark Doitsu scaling.
The most striking feature is the row of large, armor-like scales running prominently down the back. Their deep charcoal centers contrast sharply against the reflective silver skin, creating an almost sculpted appearance when viewed from above.
Warm golden-yellow markings appear across the head and along the sides, bringing color to the otherwise silver and charcoal palette. The smooth areas of the Doitsu body allow the metallic sheen to remain especially noticeable.
For someone drawn to koi with unusual scale structure, this fish offers plenty of character. Its combination of oversized dorsal scales, metallic luster and golden accents makes it quite different from a more traditionally patterned Heisei Nishiki.
