This 7.5" Doitsu Showa Butterfly Koi has a powerful combination of fiery red-orange hi, deep black sumi and contrasting white, creating a dramatic three-color appearance.
The head immediately commands attention with intense red coloration accented by bold black sumi. From there, the pattern transitions into a striking mix of black and white extending along the body toward the tail.
Because this is a Doitsu Showa, the largely scaleless skin gives the colors a smooth, clean appearance and allows the individual pattern elements to stand out sharply.
Its Butterfly finnage adds another dimension. Long pectoral fins and an elongated flowing tail create graceful movement that contrasts beautifully with the fish's strong Showa pattern.
For someone who likes Showa with heavy, dramatic sumi and strong head color, this young longfin has plenty of personality.
