This 7.5" Doitsu Yamabuki Hariwake Butterfly Koi has a warm, luminous appearance created by its combination of metallic golden-yellow coloration, platinum highlights and dramatic Doitsu scaling.
One of its most distinctive features is the row of large mirror scales running along the back. Additional oversized scales around the shoulders create an almost armor-like texture that catches the light beautifully against the smoother Doitsu skin.
The body carries shades ranging from bright gold to deeper honey and amber, while lighter platinum areas provide subtle contrast. Its exceptionally long Butterfly fins and sweeping tail add graceful movement and make the metallic coloration even more noticeable in the pond.
This is a particularly appealing choice for someone who enjoys golden koi but wants something with more texture and character than a solid-color Ogon.
This koi was bred and raised at Kloubec Koi Farm in Amana, Iowa—we never import koi for resale.
Our family-owned American koi farm encompasses 80 acres, more than 60 outdoor ponds and a 300,000-gallon indoor facility. Every Kloubec Koi completes our comprehensive health and quarantine protocol before being offered for sale, and our farm has never had a case of KHV.
