This 6.5" Kumonryu Butterfly Koi combines dramatic black-and-white coloration with the elegant movement of long Butterfly fins.
Deep black sumi flows irregularly across the head, shoulders and body, contrasting against areas of lighter white and silver. Rather than forming a rigid pattern, the sumi has a smoky, organic appearance that gives this young koi plenty of individual character.
Kumonryu are particularly fascinating because their black pigmentation can change in intensity and distribution over time. A fish that looks one way today may develop a noticeably different balance of black and white as it matures.
The long, pale Butterfly fins and sweeping tail provide a striking contrast against the dark body and create graceful movement in the pond.
