A little koi with a seriously bold look! This 6.5" Doitsu Showa Koi features dramatic black markings, a soft silvery-white body, and an extraordinary arrangement of oversized mirror scales.
The most striking feature is the bold, armor-like pattern of dark scales running along its back. These irregularly arranged scales create a rugged, almost prehistoric appearance, making this koi particularly interesting from above.
Its lighter sides provide beautiful contrast to the dark scaling, while small touches of red-orange near the face add a splash of color. A distinctive dark marking on the nose gives this little koi even more personality!
Unlike traditional Showa with large areas of red, white, and black, this individual has a predominantly black-and-white appearance. Its unusual scaling and subtle red accents give it a character all its own.
At 6.5 inches, this young koi offers an opportunity to watch its markings and coloration develop as it matures.
If you appreciate unusual Doitsu koi with dramatic scale patterns, this little Showa is definitely worth a closer look!
