This 5.5" Beni Kikokuryu Butterfly Koi has an especially interesting combination of warm and cool tones, giving it a look that's quite different from a traditional red-and-black Beni Kikokuryu.
Rich copper-orange beni extends across much of the body, while smoky black sumi on the head and shoulders creates dramatic contrast. Metallic silver highlights appear throughout the lighter areas, catching the light and adding to the characteristic Kikokuryu appearance.
Its Doitsu body features a distinctive line of larger scales along the back, adding texture without distracting from the bold coloration. Long, pale Butterfly fins and a flowing tail complete the look and provide graceful movement in the pond.
Kikokuryu are particularly interesting because their sumi can change in intensity and distribution as they mature, making them a fascinating variety to watch develop.
