Meet Pip, a little Showa Butterfly with a big personality!
At just 4 inches, Pip already has an intriguing combination of smoky black markings, soft white patches, and warm copper-orange highlights. Its dark head creates a dramatic contrast against the lighter body, while touches of orange add warmth to the unusual pattern.
One of Pip's most charming features is its flowing Butterfly fins. The elongated tail and pectoral fins give this young koi an elegant appearance, especially considering its small size.
Unlike more traditional Showa with bold, clearly separated red, white, and black patterns, Pip has a softer, almost smoky appearance. The colors blend together in an interesting way, creating a distinctive look.
Showa are particularly fascinating to raise because their black sumi markings can change as they mature. At just 4 inches, Pip offers plenty of opportunity to watch its coloration and pattern develop over time.
Small, unusual, and full of charm, Pip would make a fun addition to a backyard koi pond!
Pip was bred and raised at Kloubec Koi Farm in Amana, Iowa—we never import koi for resale.
Our family-owned American koi farm encompasses 80 acres, more than 60 outdoor ponds, and a 300,000-gallon indoor facility. Every Kloubec Koi completes our comprehensive health and quarantine protocol before being offered for sale, and our farm has never had a case of KHV.
