This 20" Jumbo Matsuba Koi makes an immediate impression with its substantial size, deep charcoal coloration and beautifully defined scale pattern.
The body is covered in distinctive Matsuba-style reticulation, with dark edging creating a pronounced pinecone or netted appearance across the scales. Subtle bronze and silvery highlights catch the light throughout the body, adding dimension to an otherwise dark and dramatic koi.
Its nearly monochromatic coloration gives this Matsuba a completely different presence from brightly patterned varieties. In a pond filled with red, white, yellow and orange koi, its deep smoky coloration and highly textured scale pattern provide exceptional contrast.
At a full 20 inches, this is already a Jumbo koi with the size and body presence to become an immediate focal point in the pond.
This koi was bred and raised at Kloubec Koi Farm in Amana, Iowa—we never import koi for resale.
