This 17" Doitsu Shiro Utsuri Koi offers a distinctive take on the classic black-and-white Shiro Utsuri combination. Its largely scaleless Doitsu body creates a smooth appearance that allows the contrasting coloration to take center stage.
A broad creamy-white ground dominates the body, accented by irregular areas of deep black sumi across the head, shoulders and back. Rather than being heavily patterned from nose to tail, this koi has considerable open space between its markings, giving it a clean and unconventional appearance when viewed from above.
Dark pectoral fins complement the sumi markings and add additional contrast against the lighter body. At 17 inches, this koi already has substantial size and will stand out particularly well among colorful or metallic koi.
For the pond owner who appreciates black-and-white koi with an individual look, this Doitsu Shiro Utsuri certainly won't blend into the crowd.
