This 12.5" Aka Shusui Koi has an exceptionally dramatic appearance, combining intense red-orange hi with a bold line of dark blue-black dorsal scales.
Unlike a traditional Shusui where blue-gray coloration often dominates the body, this Aka Shusui carries extensive warm color along its sides and across much of its body. The result is a rich, fiery appearance with tremendous contrast.
Running from behind the head toward the tail is the defining Shusui feature: a pronounced row of large Doitsu dorsal scales. Their deep charcoal-blue coloration creates an almost armor-like pattern against the brilliant red-orange ground.
Subtle dark pigmentation across the head and body adds even more character to an already distinctive pattern.
At 12.5 inches, this Aka Shusui has excellent pond presence and offers a striking alternative for collectors who appreciate Shusui but want something with much stronger red coloration and a darker, more dramatic dorsal pattern.
