This 11" Doitsu Orenji Ogon Butterfly Koi is an exceptional combination of brilliant color, distinctive scale structure and dramatic longfin beauty.
Its body is saturated in a rich orange-to-copper coloration that immediately commands attention. Because this is a Doitsu koi, much of the body has a smooth appearance, while a pronounced row of large mirror scales runs along the back. Those oversized scales catch the light beautifully and create a striking armored texture against the intense orange ground.
The Butterfly finnage makes this individual particularly special. Long, sweeping pectoral fins feature beautiful white and orange accents, while the dramatically extended tail carries the orange coloration far beyond the body. In motion, these fins should give the koi an impressive flowing presence.
At 11", this koi already has considerable visual impact. Its combination of solid orange color, oversized Doitsu scales and extraordinary finnage makes it an excellent centerpiece for someone who wants something bright and immediately noticeable in the pond.
