Meet “Twinkle,” an 11.5" Gin Rin Tancho Showa Koi with a dramatic combination of color, contrast and brilliant reflective scales.
Twinkle immediately catches the eye with a vivid red-orange head marking surrounded by deep black sumi. The bold black pattern continues across the body, breaking over areas of bright white and creating the powerful three-color contrast associated with Showa.
What really brings this koi to life is the Gin Rin scaling. Individual scales reflect the light with flashes of silver, creating a sparkling effect across both the light and dark areas of the body. The combination of deep sumi and bright Gin Rin gives Twinkle a particularly dramatic appearance when viewed from above.
Dark pectoral fins and a predominantly dark tail complement the heavy sumi pattern, while the white areas provide enough contrast to keep the overall appearance visually interesting.
