Ki Matsuba are known for their yellow base color and contrasting dark reticulation, which creates the recognizable netted or pinecone-like appearance across the scales. Tater's darker scale centers provide beautiful definition against the golden-yellow body, giving this koi plenty of character when viewed from above.
Long Butterfly fins add graceful movement and make Tater appear even more substantial as it glides through the pond. The combination of bright yellow coloration, dark Matsuba patterning, and flowing fins creates excellent contrast alongside red, white, blue, and solid-colored koi.
At 10 inches, Tater already has noticeable pond presence while still offering plenty of opportunity for continued growth.
