UTSURI (oot-sir-ē) 

Illustration is that of an ideal Shiro Utsuri. The Utsuri is a two colored non-metallic koi with a black (Sumi) base with red, white or yellow markings. Markings will be large and wrap or encompass the fish. Black will appear through the face and also in the pectoral fins, dorsal and tail. A patchwork type pattern is highly valued. SHIRO UTSURI is white and black. HI UTSURI is orange-red and black. KI UTSURI is yellow and black.
